A day out to see the charming market town of Southwell in Nottinghamshire with a guided tour of the 12th/13th century minster with its famous 13th century Chapter House, which has some of the most beautiful carvings ever seen. Time for lunch in the town, then on to The Workhouse and enter the best surviving workhouse-type building in the country and imagine what life was like for the 19th century paupers who lived there. Entry to workhouse payable on the day £4.20 (NT members free). Times: 8.30am Saca Centre, Oldbury, 8.45am Tower Street, Dudley. Cost £13.00 (inclusive of coach, Minster Tour and gratuities). |
