Description:
This book records the loss of the canal system in the light of excursions made by the author during the 1980s and early 1990s. This had been a period of significant change and there were irrevocable alterations within the Black Country landscape due to the acceleration of the demise of canal cross links and branches.

For the purpose of his record - first published as a trilogy in the 1995 issues of "The Blackcountryman" - the author has taken the Black Country to extend roughly from Ogley to Stewponey and from Lapal to Compton. His maps and sketches have been specifically designed to support the theme of his narrative.

Overseas customers please contact Alan Pilkington for price including postage - cheques for UK purchasers must be made payable to "The Black Country Society"
